    • 1 package powdered fruit pectin

    • 5 cups sugar
    • 1 cup packed brown sugar

Instructions

Step 1: Gather Your Ingredients

Gather up your chopped apples—it’s time for an apple fiesta.

Step 2: Combine Ingredients

In a large pot, toss together the peeled and finely chopped apples, water, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and pectin. Stir the mixture well and bring it to a roaring boil over high heat.

Step 3: Add the Sweet Sauce

Add the sugars to the boiling mixture. Stir until the sugar is fully mixed in and dissolved. Boil hard for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Let the bubbles party!

Step 4: Prepare for Jarring

Remove the pot from heat and skim off any foam. Ladle your fragrant creation into hot, sterilized jars, leaving 1/4 inch of headspace at the top.

Step 5: Seal the Jars

Wipe the rims of the jars clean. Apply lids and tighten the bands finger tight. Process the jars in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes. High five, you did it!
