Get ready to indulge in the creamy delight of Beef Stroganoff with Egg Noodles! This comforting classic will have everyone at the table asking for seconds. It’s time to get cooking and bring a little joy to your dinner table!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil, for sautéing
  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • Salt, for boiling water

Instructions

Step 1: Sear the Beef

Heat a splash of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Toss in the sliced beef and cook until nicely browned. Remove and set those tasty strips aside.

Step 2: Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add a bit more olive oil and sauté the onions and mushrooms until softened and golden.

Step 3: Thicken the Sauce

Sprinkle the flour over your mushroom-onion mix. Stir it up, and slowly pour in the beef broth, letting it simmer until the sauce thickens.

Step 4: Combine the Beef and Sauce

Time to bring back the beef! Add the sautéed beef back into the skillet. Stir in the Dijon mustard and sour cream, letting it warm up gently. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 5: Cook the Egg Noodles

While the beef mix is simmering, cook your egg noodles according to package instructions in salted boiling water until they’re al dente. Drain and get them ready to meet their saucy companion.

Step 6: Serve and Enjoy

Serve the steamy egg noodles on a plate and ladle over the mouthwatering beef stroganoff. Dinner is served!

Notes

Note 1: Beef Selection

Using beef sirloin steak ensures tenderness; however, you can substitute with other cuts if needed.

Note 2: Cooking Time

Take care not to overcook the beef when searing, as it will continue to cook when added back into the sauce.

Note 3: Adjusting Consistency

If the sauce is too thick, add a little more beef broth to reach your desired consistency.

Note 4: Serving Suggestions

Pair with a simple side salad or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
