Ingredients
- 1 can of refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 pound of breakfast sausage
- 1 cup of shredded cheese (your choice)
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 egg (for the egg wash)
Instructions
Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). This ensures that the crescent rolls will bake evenly.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent the rolls from sticking.
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.
Carefully unroll the crescent roll dough, separating it into triangles as indicated on the package.
Place a spoonful of cooked sausage on the thick end of each triangle. Top it with shredded cheese.
Starting from the thick end, roll the dough towards the point, enclosing the sausage and cheese filling.
Place the rolled crescent rolls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between them for expansion.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown.
Once baked, remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
