Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Bread:
    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 tablespoon sugar
    • 1 tablespoon baking powder
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
    • 1 cup milk
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • For the Topping:
    • 1/4 cup butter, melted
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C), and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

Step 2: Prepare the Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.

Step 3: Add Cheese and Wet Ingredients

Stir in 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese. Then, add 1 cup of milk, 1 beaten egg, and 1/4 cup of melted butter. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

Step 4: Transfer to Loaf Pan

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.

Step 5: Bake the Bread

Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Step 6: Prepare the Topping

While the bread is baking, mix together the topping ingredients: 1/4 cup of melted butter, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of dried parsley.

Step 7: Apply the Topping

Once the bread is out of the oven, brush the garlic butter topping generously over the hot bread, allowing it to soak in.

Step 8: Cool and Serve

Let the bread cool slightly, then slice and serve warm.
