Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Cinnamon Swirl:
    • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • For the Bread:
    • 1/3 cup butter, melted
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 egg
    • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
    • 1 cup buttermilk
    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat Your Oven

Get your oven warmed up to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

Step 2: Prepare the Cinnamon Swirl

Mix together 1/3 cup granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon in a small bowl for that signature swirl of goodness.

Step 3: Combine Wet Ingredients

In a larger bowl, combine 1/3 cup melted butter, 1 cup granulated sugar, 1 egg, and 1 tablespoon vanilla extract until well-blended. Pour in 1 cup buttermilk and give it another good stir.

Step 4: Mix Dry Ingredients

Combine 2 cups all-purpose flour and 1 teaspoon baking soda in another bowl. Gradually add to wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overdo it!

Step 5: Assemble the Batter

Pour half the batter into your prepped loaf pan. Sprinkle with half the cinnamon-sugar mix. Pour the remaining batter on top and sprinkle with the remaining cinnamon-sugar. Swirl with a knife to create a beautiful marbled effect.

Step 6: Bake the Bread

Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
