Description

Get ready to elevate your appetizer game with these Crispy Crostini with Balsamic Roasted Cranberries and Brie! Perfect for any gathering, these delightful bites combine the creaminess of Brie, the sweetness of honey, and the tartness of roasted cranberries. Your taste buds are in for a treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • Baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch slices
  • Olive oil for brushing
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 wheel of Brie cheese, sliced

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Prepare the baguette

While the oven is warming up, brush your baguette slices lightly with olive oil on both sides. Lay them out on a baking sheet.

3. Toast the crostini

Place the baking sheet in the oven and toast the baguette slices for 8-10 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until they are crisp and golden. Once done, remove from the oven and set aside to cool.

4. Prepare the cranberry mixture

In a bowl, mix together the fresh cranberries, balsamic vinegar, honey, and olive oil.

5. Roast the cranberries

Spread the cranberry mixture onto a separate baking sheet and roast in the same oven for about 15 minutes. The cranberries should be bubbling and have reached a sweet-sour perfection. Allow them to cool slightly once done.

6. Assemble the crostini

Top each crostini with a slice of creamy Brie cheese, followed by a spoonful of the roasted cranberries.

7. Serve

Serve the crostini immediately, allowing guests to grab and devour the delicious bites!

Notes

Adjusting sweetness

Feel free to adjust the amount of honey to your taste preference – more honey for a sweeter mix or less for a more tangy flavor.

Brie alternatives

If Brie is not available, Camembert or a similar soft cheese can be used as a substitute.

Storing leftovers

If you have leftovers, store the crostini and roasted cranberries separately to maintain the crispness of the bread.

Garnishing suggestions

Consider adding a sprinkle of fresh herbs, such as thyme or rosemary, for an additional flavor layer.
