    • 2 large eggs
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
    • 1/2 cup milk
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the Crunchy Topping:
    • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 cup brown sugar
    • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
    • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.

Step 2: Prepare the Sweet Potato Mash

In a large bowl, combine 4 cups of mashed sweet potatoes, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 2 large eggs, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 4 tablespoons melted unsalted butter, 1/2 cup milk, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. Mix until the mixture is smooth and pour it into the prepared baking dish.

Step 3: Make the Crunchy Topping

In a separate bowl, mix together 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup chopped pecans, and 4 tablespoons softened unsalted butter. Crumble this mixture evenly over the sweet potato layer in the baking dish.

Step 4: Bake the Casserole

Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the topping is lightly browned and the casserole is heated through. Allow it to cool slightly before serving to let the flavors meld together perfectly.
