Ingredients
- 1 pound sirloin or ribeye, cubed
- Salt & black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- 2 pounds russet potatoes, peeled & cubed
- 1/2 cup milk (or heavy cream for extra richness)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- Salt & black pepper, to taste
- Optional: 1/4 cup sour cream or cream cheese
Instructions
Mash That Magic:
– Boil the potato cubes in a large pot of water until fork-tender (15-20 mins). Drain them well!
– Return them to the pot, add milk, butter, salt, and pepper. Mash until fabulously smooth. Mix in sour cream or cream cheese if you’re feeling fancy. Keep warm!
Steak the Stage:
– While the potatoes do their thing, season the steak cubes with salt and pepper.
– Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high. Sizzle those steak bites for 2-3 mins each side for a tender medium-rare delight!
– Toss in garlic and butter, stirring to coat the steak in garlicky goodness. Cook another minute till aromatic and melty.
Plate & Devour:
– Big ol’ scoop of mashed potatoes on each plate, topped with juicy steak bites. Drizzle leftover garlic butter all over! Garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
Notes
Potato Tips:
– For lighter mashed potatoes, substitute half the potatoes with cauliflower.
Steak Tips:
– Let the steak rest for a few minutes after cooking for better juiciness.
Storage:
– Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave.
