Ingredients
- For the Crust:
- 12 whole graham crackers
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- For the Topping:
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to a toasty 350°F (175°C).
2. Prepare the Baking Sheet
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper for easy clean-up.
3. Arrange the Graham Crackers
Break the graham crackers into halves and arrange them snugly on the baking sheet until it’s covered.
4. Prepare the Toffee Mixture
In a small saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring until smooth. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil for about 5 minutes. Pour it evenly over the graham crackers.
5. Bake the Bars
Slide the tray into the oven and bake for 7 to 9 minutes, until the toffee turns golden and bubbly.
6. Add the Chocolate
Remove from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips on top. Let them sit until they’re soft, then spread evenly with a spatula.
7. Optional Nut Topping
Sprinkle chopped nuts on top if you desire.
8. Cool and Set
Pop the baking sheet into the fridge to cool and set. Once firm, break into bars and enjoy!
