Ingredients
- For the Cheesecake:
- 24 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- For the Baklava Layers:
- 1 cup pistachios, finely chopped
- 1 cup walnuts, finely chopped
- 1 cup almonds, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted and divided
- 1 package phyllo dough, thawed
- For the Honey Syrup:
- 1 cup honey
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Set the stage for your cheesecake wonder!
Step 2: Prepare the Cheesecake Mixture
In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Blend in the vanilla, followed by the eggs—one at a time. Stir in the sour cream and flour until velvety.
Step 3: Mix the Nut Filling
In another bowl, mix the pistachios, walnuts, almonds, and cinnamon.
Step 4: Prepare the Springform Pan
Grab a 9-inch springform pan and brush it with melted butter. Layer about 8 sheets of phyllo dough, brushing each with butter, in the bottom of the pan.
Step 5: Layer the Nuts
Sprinkle a generous amount of the nut mixture over the phyllo. Repeat with another set of 8 sheets and nuts until all is used.
Step 6: Add the Cheesecake Layer
Pour the creamy cheesecake mixture over the nutty layers. Bake for around 1 hour until the center sets.
Step 7: Prepare the Honey Syrup
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, water, sugar, and lemon juice to make the syrup. Simmer until sugar dissolves; then stir in vanilla.
Step 8: Pour the Honey Syrup
Once out of the oven, pour the warm honey syrup over the cheesecake. Let it cool to soak in all the goodness.
