Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together 1.5 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/3 cup granulated sugar until well combined.
Step 2: Combine Wet Ingredients
Slowly add 1.5 cups of almond milk, 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the dry mixture. Mix until you achieve a smooth batter.
Step 3: Heat the Taiyaki Pan
Grab your taiyaki pan and gently heat it over medium heat.
Step 4: Grease and Fill the Molds
Lightly grease the taiyaki molds using a little oil, then pour the batter into each mold until it is halfway full.
Step 5: Add the Filling
Spoon a generous amount of sweet red bean paste (1 cup in total) into the center of each fish-shaped mold. Add a little more batter on top to cover the filling completely.
Step 6: Cook the Taiyaki
Close the lid of the taiyaki pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the treats are golden brown and crispy.
